“Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value.” -Albert Einstein
You are valuable and you are worthy. As is. Who you are is all you need to be, and anything you do is a process of learning who you are on an ever-expanding and deepening level.
If you spend your "doing" trying to prove your self worth to others, you will exhaust yourself. I learned this the hard way. I have realized that, because I did not see value and worth in myself, I was on a mission to prove it. My mission to prove my self worth was in operating under the impression that I had to work hard and earn money to show that I could pull my weight in this world. This is a backwards way of living and it is unsustainable.
Your worth can only be measured by a relative understanding. You cannot compare yourself to others. If you do, you immediately undermine who you are. For who you are is completely unique to any other. There is no other like you. In comparing, you attempt to compare an apple to an orange. A sunset to a full moon. A rushing river to the height of a mountain. Stand true in who you are and know that you have nothing to prove.
If there is anything that is "required" of you, it is only that you grow. But grow in any way you like! However slowly or quickly that you want to move in this world is your decision. No-one is keeping score and nothing is judging you outside of you.
If you need to prove your value to yourself, by all means, continue! But you do not have to try harder or do more for anyone outside of your own demands. And when you finally realize that your self worth was there all along in simply being alive, you can let go of the obligation of doing and choose to express yourself instead. When you express yourself for who you truly are, you bring something so valuable to this world that nothing can compare. What do you really want?
